Facilities provided by Wakefield model engineers society

For many years model engineers society facilities were very basic, consisting of a prefabricated garage! this contained facilties for tea making and storage of just about everything else! A second similar building was added in the mid 1970s, increasing our storage capacity. next cane a loco shed and turntable to accommodate our growing number of 7 1/4" locos and coaches.

Further improvements have continued, over the years, and we now have a well equipped clubhouse to provide adequate facilities for members working on the railway, and where we hold winter meeting.

We also have limited, secure facilities for storage of working locomotives, a carriage shed/workshop with hydraulic ramp to ease maintenance of our rolling stock
